I love having that internal voice and compass that leads you to what is right for you in the moment. I find that it always leads me to my weekly favorites, too! Here is some of what I have been loving this week:
I didn’t grow up in an almond household, but we did love our kale. This is something I have carried through my young adult life and have recently found this kale salad that is to die for. Discovered first on Instagram reels by my Dad, this linked recipe is almost exact to the one we have been making. The only difference between this and ours, which is completely optional for your own recreation, are the addition of 3 cloves of minced garlic and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes that each add an extra zest. We have been making this so much this summer and love how healthy it makes us feel. While there is no protein in the recipe, you can absolutely add as it makes a perfect base!
I have had this cardigan on my wishlist for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase while I was in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. I like tying pieces I have had my eye on for a while with trips or moments I want to remember—the item then serves its place in my life as not only a wishlist item, but also a reminder of happy times and places throughout my life. I love this brand not only for its look and style, but also because it is Parisian, which reminds me of my fond summer days spent in Paris while abroad. Check them out if you haven’t already!
It is no secret that I have been obsessed with Target’s wardrobe selection recently, and their workout apparel is no exception. From buttery soft leggings and onesies, to swift running shorts perfect for any occasion, they are really hitting it out of the park (and keeping their pieces at reasonable price points!) I have the navy and black version of this one-piece and adore each of them equally. So easy to throw on for a walk or workout, and the quality mimics that of a higher priced brand! Such a steal.
Now don’t ask me why aluminum-free deodorant is important, but I am a sucker for an aesthetic. And you have to admit—this deodorant is so much cuter than the Secret or Dove sticks you find at CVS or Target. It is more expensive, but I’m hoping it lasts a decent amount of time given its size. I got the Bergamot & Hinoki (again, don’t ask me what that is) version of this natural deodorant and have been loving the scent so far! Anxious to see if it lasts me through a Fuze House workout class this week with minimal odor, but we shall report back and see. It looks cute sitting with my skincare products so far!
One of my roommates got me these for our room’s Secret Santa last Christmas, and I have been obsessed with them ever since. They are the perfect addition to my walks, at home workouts, or just to throw on when I want an extra challenge while walking around the house. My latest endeavor? Wearing them on trains and airplanes when traveling. I always want to bring them along for my travels to keep up my workout regime while I am away. The not-so-fun part? Packing them in my suitcase. I have been wearing flowy pants while traveling, however, and wearing these underneath—getting an extra challenge and ensuring I can keep up my workouts for the time I am away? Double win.
Walking Sneakers: Nike V2K Run
Maybe it sounds counterintuitive to have a running sneaker as my favorite for walking, but I could seriously walk 20k+ steps in these and have my feet be absolutely fine. I am on my second pair (each lasts me about a year) and cannot see myself switching to another shoe anytime soon. I like the slightly edgy look these shoes have to them, as I typically wear an otherwise plain workout fit. They add the perfect balance of style and comfort to my style, and recommend if you are in the market for a new walking sneaker!
See you next week!
XOXO,
M
